World Family Exchange brings together families so children, students, and young adults can participate in linguistic and cultural exchanges in other countries. Member families agree to participate on a non-commercial basis. The website functions like a social network, members may create detailed profiles (see our example). An internal message system allows members to contact each other. You can keep track of your contacts and makes notes on them.
Different levels of involvement are possible:
- Reciprocal exchange: Your child is received in a family, your receive one of their children in return.
- Looking for a host family: You are looking for a host family for a young person in a particular country for a linguistic or cultural visit.
- Hospitality offered: You wish to receive a young person from a different culture in your home.
- Conversations on Skype or similar services: You wish to talk with other members.
- Communication: You wish to find a pen pal for a young person.
